Welcome to Collectors Coins & Jewelry

At Collectors Coins & Jewelry in Lynbrook, we pride ourselves on our expertise in evaluating both U.S. and foreign coins.

With 70+ years of experience, our team is dedicated to providing accurate and fair appraisals, ensuring that collectors and sellers receive the best possible value for their coins. Whether you’re looking to sell a single rare coin or an entire collection, our knowledgeable staff is here to assist you every step of the way, making sure you are given peace of mind.

How Selling Your Coins Works

1. Bring them in — or text a photo first

No appointment needed. Walk into our Lynbrook store, or text photos for a preliminary read on larger collections.

2. Expert evaluation, in front of you

Our numismatists assess date, mint mark, grade and market demand piece by piece — nothing leaves your sight.

3. Firm cash offer, no obligation

Take our offer on the spot and walk out with cash, or take time to decide. The appraisal is free either way.

Coins We're Actively Buying

Gold Coins

American Gold Eagles & Buffalos, Krugerrands, Canadian Maple Leafs, pre-1933 U.S. gold ($2.50, $5, $10, $20 Liberty & Saint-Gaudens), and world gold coinage.

Silver Dollars & 90% Silver

Morgan and Peace dollars, American Silver Eagles, and pre-1965 “junk silver” dimes, quarters & halves — by the piece or by the bag.

Graded & Certified Coins

PCGS, NGC, ANACS and CAC-stickered coins. Bring your slabs — we pay real numismatic value, not melt.

Rare & Key-Date U.S. Coins

Key dates, better dates, and low-mintage issues across all U.S. series, from half cents to double eagles.

Bullion & Proof Sets

Gold, silver, platinum & palladium bullion in any form, plus U.S. Mint proof and mint sets.

Estate & Inherited Collections

Inherited a collection and not sure what you have? We evaluate entire estates — albums, folders, safe deposit boxes — and explain what everything is worth, free of charge.

Coin Selling FAQ

Do I need an appointment to sell my coins?

No appointment is needed. Stop by during business hours and we’ll take a look at your coins while you’re here.

Do you buy graded coins in PCGS or NGC holders?

Yes. We buy coins graded by PCGS and NGC, whether they’re in their original holders or not.

I inherited a coin collection and have no idea what's in it. Can you help?

Yes, and you’re not alone. Inherited collections are very common. Bring in what you have, even if it’s a box, a jar, or a few old albums, and we’ll go through it with you, explain what you have, and give you an honest offer. There’s no pressure to sell.

Are my old pennies valuable?

Most old pennies are worth only a little more than face value, but some can be worth a lot, depending on the year, the mint mark, and the condition. It’s worth having them checked before you spend them or toss them. Bring them in and we’ll tell you honestly what you have.

A Quick Word About Pocket Change

We love coins — but honesty is part of our reputation. Most modern coins found in circulation (pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters from recent decades) are worth face value, despite what viral videos suggest. If that’s what you have, we’ll tell you straight — but a trip may not be worth your time.

Where we can genuinely pay you well: silver coins dated 1964 and earlier, gold coins of any date, graded coins, and older collections. Not sure which you have? Text us a photo at (646) 450-1068 and we’ll tell you before you drive over.
